“My vote is our future: youngster’s role in a system based on representation” is a Youth and Democracy project that will last 12 months and will be implemented in Italy, Latvia, Bulgaria and Poland with the participation of 8 youth organizations active in the field of youth participation which are Associazione TDM 2000 and Sarditinera (Italy), Initiative for Social Integration Foundation and VIA CIVIC Association (Bulgaria), AEGEE Riga and One Terrene International Latvia (Latvia), Stowarzyszenie Absolwentów “Radośni” and Stowarzyszenie Młodzieżowych Inicjatyw Twórczych “CREATOR” (Poland). We aim at involving at least 4000 youngsters. The main topic of the project - 2014 European Elections. With this project we aim at achieving one main result: to help youth understand the importance of their role as citizens for the future of the whole community. What are we expecting from the upcoming European Elections? Which inputs and which signs do the European young people want to send to the new parliamentarians? These questions and many more will constitute the skeleton of our project. We will act on two levels and in two different times: before the elections, stimulating the youngsters to go vote by spreading information on concepts linked to the role of citizens (duties and rights), principles of the Constitutions of each partner countries related to the right of vote and to representation, civic education and active citizenship; after the elections inviting the youth to express their needs and to report them to the parliamentarians in order that the latter can include the expressed needs in their programs.
